Happy New Year to all my lovely readers!
Wishing you an awesome year ahead!
I kick started year 2017 by visiting Myanmar.
Currently, I’m in the royal city of Mandalay.
The weather is cool and great for taking outdoor photographs as it is unlikely to rain for the time-being.
Walking up the staircases of Mandalay Hill barefooted was such a strange sensation.
The golden Buddha statue at the Mahamuni Temple was no less impressive.
It never crossed my mind that one could easily established new friendship over papaya salad conversation. Well, I asked her for Myanmar salad recommendation and she ended up dropping me off at her favorite salad place in town. We even exchanged contacts. I hope she’ll visit me in Kuala Lumpur one day 🙂
Malaysia is probably the only country in the ASEAN region that require a visa to visit Myanmar. The Malaysian government is not in good terms with Myanmar due to the Rohingya controversy. Politicians in Malaysia should be awarded honorary doctorates for diverting their shortcomings onto other nations prior to the upcoming general election.
Here are lists of documents to prepare for Myanmar visa application:
1. Photocopy of passport with at least 6 months validity
2. Return flight printouts
3. Hotel bookings printouts
4. One recent passport photo
5. Myanmar visa application form
6. Passport with at least 6 months validity
The visa application fee cost RM 220. Allow at least 2 working days for visa processing. The Myanmar embassy in Kuala Lumpur accepts visa applications from 9 am to 12 noon. Operating hours for visa collection are from 2pm to 4pm.
Have you been to Myanmar? Looking forward to hear from you soon! 🙂
